Last night
hubby and I woke because our Max had breathing problems. It was hell; the poor
pooch could barely catch his breath. All we could do was sit at his side and
keep him calm because he was panicking (and rightly so!)
After the
episode was over we kept him company for a while longer just to make sure he
really was ok. After that, I didn’t sleep much the rest of the night. Max is
doing fine now, we just went for we long walk and my friend joined us with her
doggie, she is Max’s lady friend. So, fingers crossed that Max isn’t getting any
more breathing problems.
Have a good
day all!

So scary. Do you know what is causing the problem?
ReplyDeleteYes Jamie, i actually do, Max has what the doctor calls ‘reverse sneezing’.
ReplyDeleteThis link explains a bit more about reverse sneezing.

Normally dogs with short noses have these problems. Max is a mixed breed, poodle, Shih Tzu, west highlander and Maltese. Normally dogs with a short nose have this problems. And this is the sad part, Max has a long nose. He shouldn’t have these problems but he does, last night was bad. All we could do was being there for him and keep him from panicking.
