Three years ago, li’ll Max was abused at the dog salon, ever since; I’m
the only person who can bath him and give him his haircut. He doesn’t bite or
anything, but he’s so scared that he’s a bit sick afterwards. Yesterday I had
to give him a much needed haircut. I always start with his paws, because the worst
part is removing that’s situated at his paw pads. Only pointing at them is
enough reason for Max to panic, yes, even after three years.
Yesterday ‘it took
me some time to get him super relaxed’ but he let me work on his paw pads. I
was like wow Max was laying on his side, his eyes closed, totally relaxed. I
don’t use a scissor but I use a hair clipper. Max doesn’t hold still all the
time so I can’t use a scissor because I would eventually cut him. When he let
me work on his paw pads without fighting me, I was the happiest person on earth,
right there and then!
As of tomorrow Max will stay at friends of us. Hubby and I have to work
and we will be away for a week and unfortunately we can’t Max with us. But, our
friends love and adore Max, so he’s in good hands. Our friends live at the edge
of a small town were there’s enough space for Max to run free and play.
For the last fourteen days it’s nothing but preparations for camping
show, last weekend was our first and this week * Thursday* starts the second
which will last for six days. In between I hope to continue with my story; it
has to be finished in four weeks. Right now I have some laundry that needs to
be done and some other house cleaning stuff. I showered with li’ll Max this
morning, so I have to groom him later today when he isn’t wet anymore.
So for today I made a list so I don’t forget things LOL. Brushing Max,
laundry, make sure the rest of the things we need for the coming six days is
ready and packed, vacuum one last time, and so on. So there is a lot to do before
hubby picks me up tomorrow.
