My hubby, writing, trouble at work and……..a King.

I think I finally found the right balance between my part-time job at the firm, my work as a copywriter, writing and editing my novels and keeping the house clean. I will take the time to pursue my hobby (writing books) at the weekend, all the other thing must take place during the weekdays.

This week the Queen of the Netherlands announced that she is stepping down, and her son Alex will be king.  Even though I not really a fan of royals, I like the idea of Alex being our King! On April 30st Prince Willem Alexander will be crowned King, and I will be in front of the TV all day long LOL.

I work from home most of the time, and I like it for several reasons, like I don’t have to leave for work in the morning and I can start working at any time I like. I feel content sitting on the couch, my li’ll doggie Max is lying beside me while I tap away on my laptop. Hubby is sick and is settled comfortably on the couch. My hubby has a weak heart and has long problems too, so he has to be careful when sick.

I face some issues at work because of my vacation time; I gave in for five years, this is the first time that I can’t comply, and my boss doesn’t like it one bit. My colleague and I always organized our vacation time so that one of us is always there to cover for the other. This year however, our vacation time will overlap one week. So this one week neither my colleague nor I will be at work, and my boss has to cover that one week. I will for once not stand down, so I’m curious as to how she is gonna react.

I have a back-up if push comes to shove; another firm wants to hire me and approached me already. So I don’t really worry, but it’s just not me to do things this way, you know! But if she continues to be unreasonable then I will leave.
I mean if other colleagues get four to six weeks off for their vacation, and those vacation times always cross. So why make it so difficult for me? This is the first time in five years that I ask for a favor.

What do you think?

After I finish the writing for my blog, I will continue with editing my novel and writing on my Christmas story. I definitely have to re-write a few scenes on both the books. It will take my mind of the negative things lying ahead of me.

I worked a bit on my webpage but it needs so much more work. I added the beginning of Sam and Rory’s story, I know it needs more editing, I just am curious as to what you think of the story so far.
